Eric's Spring Break

Hi Friends and Family,
This last week was Eric's last spring break of college. So we tried to have as much fun as possible. On Tuesday night we went to Apizza Scholls. Some of the yummiest pizza in Portland. We went with a bunch of friends and had a great time and ate a lot of pizza. I highly recommend trying it out. It is only open for dinner, no reservations unless you have 8 or more people and the pizza is stellar! On Wednesday we went to trivia night at the 5th Quadrant (New Old Lompoc) on the NE side of Portland. Totally fun....and Eric even won the trivia egg! (see below) It was this amazing hand painted egg that the trivia master painted. There were three different images on the egg and the last question was to identify the three images. Below you can see two of them, the third one was the writing inside the lord of the rings in elfish. We also spent some time at Ground Control. Playing some old school arcade games. Eric sure does love Ms Pac Man. Thursday Eric spent some quality time with his brother in law playing some video games. Boys will be boys. :) Friday Ashlie took the day off and we hung out with Eric's family. Eric's Aunt Gloria was in town to see Bruce Springstein and Yvonne went to rock out along side her. So the girls hung out at our house downtown before going to the concert. They had a great time and are still sore from all the dancing and jumping around. Saturday we also spent time with Eric's family. Did a little shopping and hit up happy hour at Bartini...yummy martini's and snacks. Then that evening we went over to Mike and Yvonne's and had game night. Gloria, Lori and Uncle Mike were there too. On Sunday we went to the Portland Art Museum to see a special exhibit called "The Dancer." It was a series of artwork from 3 painters featuring ballerinas. It was beautiful. Then we took some time to explore the rest of the museum. It was great.
Well that is about it. Eric had a nice spring break and we were able to spend some time together. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Love, Ashlie & Eric

Another passionate kiss with the egg.

Oh...did I mention that this weekend it has snowed, hailed and poured down rain here in Portland. This is a picture of the snow....not the best shot, but you get the picture. :)

The Dancer Exhibit

Eric showing off his best impression of a little ballet move he learned touring the exhibit.

A statue in the park blocks by the museum. Lincoln...with Eric doing another great impression.

Theodore Roosevelt. The Ruff Rider himself.
Notice the random orange cone in the horse's behind.

A mural on the side of a building. Eric and I really liked it, so we took a picture. It looks 3d but it's not. Cool huh?

Well there it is. Hope you enjoyed reading about our weekend!

Easter 2008

Happy Easter!
Eric and I spent Easter with Eric's family (Mike, Yvonne, Mo, Jared, Naya) and had a great time. We had dinner and relaxed, laughed, watched a movie, and chatted. It was a great day. But the # 1 thing we did was play with Naya. So....this blog is basically dedicated to the cutest little girl in the world, Naya.
Naya in her Easter dress. Totally adorable. She had on these sparkly silver shoes.

Naya in the "achoo" It's this soft tube thing that looks like a centipede or something, that she calls the "achoo" since Papa Mike does this silly thing where he pretends to sneeze and this collapsible tube thing shoots out. It make much more sense if you see it done. :)

Uh oh....where's uncle Eric?

There he is!

Naya crawling inside the achoo

Naya was inside the achoo saying, "where's naya?" then she crawled out with a big smile on her face. With Biscuit (the dog) watching over play time.

After a little tub time....little miss naked came out and was flashing us!
I'm gonna get you....notice Naya's foot at the bottom of the picture. She was putting it on Eric's face playing a little game with him.
Uh oh....he got you!! She was laughing so hard!!
So apparently my darling niece has a thing for tape...so here is a picture of her with tape on her mouth. She really liked it. She is so strange sometimes.
Oh and then Mo is going to kill me. But for our family and friends that don't live around here, this is a picture of the nugget. Mo is due June 21st....and here is her tummy. :) Sorry Mo, but I had to put this picture on here.
Well that was Easter! Hope you had a good one!

Golfing at Edgefield

Hello Friends and Family!
Eric started Spring Break on Friday. This is his last spring break...one more term to go and he is done. Whoo hoo! The icing on the cake is that he checked his grades and he did really well. And I mean REALLY well. So needless to say I am super proud of him!
Today we went to Edgefield to play the Par 3 golf course. They have just added 15 news holes, so there is a 12 hole course and a 20 hole course. We played the 20 holes and it was really fun. Plus it was a beautiful day here in Oregon. A little on the windy side, which wasn't really helping our balls fly straight, but all in all a really nice day.
Here are some pictures from our day.
A view from one of the holes.

Another view from one of the holes. Snow capped mountains in March. What a site.

The bare vineyard.

The next three pictures are of flowers that they have around the grounds. Eric was making fun of me when I was taking them, but I think they turned out nice. Besides, you should always take time to stop and smell the flowers. (even if they don't really have a smell). :)

Blooming tree

Another blooming tree

Eric concentrating hard to put the ball in the hole. Notice the little yellow ball closer to the pin, yep that's mine. :)

Another serious Eric picture. Putting is no laughing matter.

Fore!! Ashlie's action shot.

Scorecard. Yes...Ashlie is the winner!! It may only be by one stroke, but I still won. Don't look too close to the scorecard. We didn't play that well. Remember there was a major wind factor.

Picture of the loser.

After golfing we did a little shopping. Stopped by our favorite butcher shop, Gartner's and got some stuff for the grill. Since Eric is home all week, he is going to BBQ for us. mmmm...so tasty.
We are going to spend time with Eric's mom for Easter tomorrow. Ashlie's parents are going to AZ for a little sun, golf (for Ed) and relaxing (for marge).
Happy Easter! We love you!

What we've been up to

Hi All!
So this last week has been a super busy one! Andrea (Ashlie's cousin from Chicago) came into town. He was here for a week, and we made sure he had a good time.
He came in on Saturday the 8th and we headed over to Saturday Market so he could check out the craziness in Portland. Then we had BBQ and after that hit the town with some friends. (see pic below of Brandon, Eric and Andrea). We had a late night...and then the time change happened and man that made it an even later night! Then Eric and Andrea got up early and went snowboarding at Timberline. They had a great time and no one got hurt. Whoo hoo! Sunday night we just watched a movie and hung out. Monday, Andrea went snowboarding with Elliot (Ashlie's brother) at Mt Hood Meadows. Again no one got hurt and they had a great time. Tuesday Andrea spent the day at Nike with Ashlie. Took him to the Employee Store and then off to dinner with Marge (Ashlie's mom). Wednesday back up to the mountain. Thursday Andrea hit Portland during the day while Ashlie was at work, then Ashlie and Andrea went out to Silk for happy hour, Blitz for dinner, and then Jimmy Mak's to listen to some great jazz. Friday Ashlie took Andrea up to the mountain for a 4th time, he snowboarded Ashlie sat in the lodge and made friends. Friday night we went to dinner with Ed and Marge at a Moroccan place. You eat with your hands and a belly dancer comes around. Totally random and fun. Then we all went to Kel's to celebrate St. Patties day. Then off to Ringlers. All in all it was a great week with the Cousin!

Then Eric and Ashlie spent Saturday evening with Naya, Mo, and Jared. See the adorable pics below. Sunday was a day of rest, and then we headed over to Portland City Grill for Happy Hour and to celebrate a friend's b-day.
This week is finals week for Eric, so he is studying and looking forward to a week off. Then he will start his last term of school!
Well that's about it from our house. Hope all is well with you.
Love,
Ashlie and Eric

A Weekend in Portland

Hi!
Eric came home on Friday and we met up with some of his friends (Shawn, Cameron, Phillip and Brandon) and we hit the town. First we went to Portland Pizza Co for some late night happy hour pizza. $1.00 slices and $2.00 wells. Can't beat that. Then we headed to Bar 15. Haven't been there in a while and it was great. The dance floor was packed and they were playing great music. Then we headed over to Montage for some late night Mac and Cheese. So good! It was a late night and Eric and I didn't get to bed until 4:30am! Haven't stayed up that late in a while. Shawn spent the weekend at our house since she was working the OSU baseball game in town. However, I forgot the camera and have zero photos of our adventures.

But then on Saturday after a late start Eric and headed out and went to the OSU v Georgia baseball game at PGE Park. There was a slight rain delay about half way through the game. But wait 15mins and the weather will change, and the sun came out and the game was back on. Oh, OSU lost. :(
Rain Delay
Game on!
Then on Sunday Eric had to leave early and get his CPR re-certification. So I spent the day chilling in Portland. It was an absolutely amazing day here. So I took some pictures from my walk in the Pearl.

The river and the bridge. This was taken on my walk down the water front. The path goes right by our house.

Today was a great taste of spring. Hopefully the nice weather will stick around for a while. :)
Let's see what else is going on with us...my cousin is coming to visit next week from Chicago. So there will be lots of fun pictures of while he is here. I am really excited he is coming to visit. Monique is moving along in her pregnancy. No new photos of the belly. But she tells me she is starting to waddle. :) She is due on June 25th, so just a few more months and the nugget will be here. I call it the nugget since they're not going to find out what it is. Well that's about it. We will be posting lots more pictures soon.
Hope all is well with you.
Love,
Ashlie & Eric
