Fun with Family and Snow

Eric and were lucky enough to get a half snow day yesterday and we spent the time with family. We made it over to Yvonne's house and hung out with Jared, Mo, Naya, Matthew, Yvonne and Mike. Here are some photos from the day.
Naya and Jared sledding. Jared, Eric, Naya and I went looking for a sledding hill in Mike and Yvonne's neighborhood. We found the perfect hill and had a great time.

Naya's solo ride. She had so much fun, laughing all the way down.

A cute picture of Naya after sledding.

Help up: Uncle Eric helped Naya get up the hill the fast way.

Jared wipe out. Of course the adults had to have some fun...Jared went flying down the hill and stopped the only way he could, by leaning over and putting on the flannel brakes. :)

The first push...this is a picture of Naya's first push down the hill. Jared told her to hang out and off she went, smiling the entire way down.

A little more adult fun...Eric sledding down the hill..Naya wasn't the only one who had fun.

"I can't put my arms down"

After sledding we went back to Yvonne and Mikes. Eric and I spent some time with Matthew. Here he is wearing Eric's hat. Looks like we may have another USC fan in the family.

Tough guy!

Just hanging out.
What...do I have something on my face?

I was trying to take a nice picture...but Eric and Naya had other plans.

We spent some time playing Wii, Naya is a great bowler, here she is showing off some moves.

Uncle Eric had the pleasure of giving Matthew a bath. Looks like they are both having fun.

Finally a video of Jared and Naya sledding.
Well Eric and I had a fabulous time hanging out in the snow with our family. We are looking forward to the Holiday's so we can spend more quality time with friends and family.

Snowing in Oregon

Hi Friends and Family!
Well it's snowing in Oregon. It's been really cold (10 degrees with wind chill). We are staying warm. Cooking yummy food (I used a crock pot for the first time!) and drinking hot chocolate. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Love you all!

Christmas at the Johnson's

Hello All,

Sorry it's been so long since I updated the blog. We have been busy putting the house together. And with it, we have had a lot of firsts. First time we trimmed our plum trees, first time we weatherized our windows, first time we put up Christmas lights, our first Christmas tree. It has been wonderful. Below are some photos of the house with furniture in it. :)
This is our living room.

This is the guest room. Eric and I made the headboard. I am still trying to figure out what curtains to put up....but the room is ready for guests! :)

This is my library or reading area. It is right off the guest room.

I'll put up photos of our master bedroom once its finished. We are waiting for our new bed frame to come. And we still don't have a dining room table, but other than that we are almost ready to throw a house warming party. :)

The rest of the photos are of our Christmas Lights.
Snoopy and Woodstock are all ready to celebrate the Holiday's

Our first Christmas Tree. There was a really cute tree farm a couple blocks from our house, so Eric and I walked down to the lot, picked out a tree and carried it home. It was such a special evening. Then we realized we didn't have any lights to put on the tree and had about 5 ornaments, so we had to go out and buy some new decorations and lights.
The Christmas lights on the house. We ended up putting the lights on the house in the dark. It was so funny, there I was holding the ladder while Eric climbed up and attached lights.

We hope all is well with you. More pictures to come of the house and of us. We love you all!

We are moved in!

Well good news, we are officially moved in! My arms are tired, my legs are tired, my back is sore but other than that all is good. Big thanks to our buddy Brandon for helping us out. Without him we could not have got it done. He was the super mover! And big thanks for Mom and Dad for all their help as well. I really appreciated being able to take a shower this morning in a nice clean bathroom. :) I don't have any pictures to share yet, since the house has piles of boxes everywhere, but I will have some shortly.

Tour of our new house

Here is a video tour of the first floor of our new house. It's not the best quality, and it's a little dark in the beginning (the light is out in the main room) but you get the idea. :) See the blog post below to get details on the house and more pictures.

Our New House!

Well it's official Eric and I are home owners! Our new address is: 3145 NE 52nd Ave, Portland OR 97213.
Here is a little info about the house: It is located in North East Portland, specifically the Beaumont Area. Beaumont is a super cute area where we can walk to shops, restaurants, bars, etc. The house was built in 1925, but has since be updated. It sits on a 5,000 square foot lot. It is 2,130sq ft including the unfinished basement. It still has the original built-ins and hard wood floors. It has an unfinished basement, and a finished attic. Both spaces have tall(er) ceilings so Eric and I can fit in them without ducking our heads, and we even have head room, plus the stair cases are not scary and easy to go up and down....amazing! The main floor and attic have original wood floors. It has the cool old school crown moldings that you can hang pictures from...basically it is super cute and we love it. It is currently 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, so we have room for guests. You are welcome to come anytime!

Eric and I are already started to outline what we want to update and remodel. It's so fun having a house we can move into without having to do anything but yet it still has potential to remodel and make it our own. Plus a little sweat equity never hurt anyone.

These 2 pictures are from right after we got done signing all the paperwork. We signed on Monday afternoon.

The 2 pictures below are of us waiting outside the house last night. We were waiting for our real estate agent to bring us the keys. Which by the way ended up being underneath a plotted plant in the front yard.

Eric opening our door for the first time!

Yea we are in!!

After our agent left Eric and I spent some time in the house alone. We cracked open a bottle of champagne and walked through the house talking about what we wanted to do in each room. It was a really special moment.

This is us in the dining room. Cheers!

These pictures are not fabulous. They are from our appraisal document. When we went to the house last night it was super dark, so I couldn't take any pictures of my own. But this gives you an idea of what it looks like. The house has a wonderful backyard, we can't wait to have our first BBQ.

Random Weekend

Well it was a random weekend. It started on Friday, Eric had a football game (which they won) and then went out with some trainer friends. I spent the evening with Naya, Maddie, Matthew, Jared and Mo. I got in some quality Aunt time. Then on Saturday Eric had bumps and bruises clinic in the morning, and then that afternoon we went to a BBQ and Yvonne and Mike's. The Roberts family was there, and Aunt Lori and Uncle Mike too. It was great hanging out with family. All of the pictures below are from Saturday. Then on Sunday Eric and I went window shopping for a new couch and washer and dryer for our new house! Yep we bought a house. Whoo hoo! We are supposed to sign paperwork this week. I will take some pictures the next time we are there and post them asap. We are so excited and can't wait to move into our new home. We will send out our new address to everyone so you can find us. Well that it's for now. We hope all is well in your neck of the woods. :)

Naya playing with Uncle Eric (aka Robot) and showing off her butt.

Matthew rocking the one rolled up pant leg.

Touchdown! Naya and Eric were playing catch and she was showing off her touchdown skills.

Sweet Matthew Roberts. Grandma Yvonne was making him laugh, and I had to snap a few pictures.

Oh and then there was bath time.

Jared and his little man.

Oh this is the best, Naya kissing a bug. Click on this photo to see her kissing the bugs legs. So funny!

Birthday Weekend

This weekend was full of birthday celebrations. Eric's b-day was on Friday, he had to work, bummer, but I spent the evening with him at the Gresham High School Football Game. (which they won in overtime!) On the sidelines with my man. :) But no worries, we are going out for a nice dinner tonight (Sunday) so we can celebrate the right way. Then on Saturday it was Naya's 3rd b-day party. She had a Pirate Party, full of eye patches, pirate flags and treasures.
Check out the photos below from the party.
B-Day Boy. Eric got his own cake at the party, cheesecake, his favorite.

Naya trying to put on her candy necklace.

Monique got a pinata for the kids...Naya and Maddie were waiting patiently for their treasure!

Naya gathering her treasure

So excited. Big smiles from Naya, she had a lot of fun.

Naya gets the first swing.

Green tongue...Naya enjoying her cake

Naya's Tinkerbell Cake

Blowing her b-day horn....it was loud!

Blowing out her candles.

Eating cake. Notice the blow pop in her hand, the candy necklace on the table and cupcake on the plate. She didn't know what to do with all those sweet choices. :)

Eric and Mike

Well there is a re-cap of all the b-day fun. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
And remember to keep in touch.
