Ode to Naya and Matthew

Eric and I had the pleasure of spending some quality time with our niece and nephew Naya and Matthew this weekend. Here are some pictures.
Matthew's first Jordans. They are socks, but super cute nonetheless.

Here is a picture of Uncle Eric making Matthew laugh. Whenever Eric makes the kiss noise Matthew would smile and laugh.

Bottle time.

This is a picture of Matthew from Friday night, he did not want to go to sleep, so here he is fighting to keep his eyes open.

Next week is Naya's 3rd B-day. So I am sure I will get a lot of pictures from the party. Hope all is well with you.

A little late August Fun

Towards the end of August Eric and I went to see Jack Johnson in concert and then went to the Mariners v A's game with our friend Cara. Here are some pictures from our late August fun.

Ashlie & Eric at the Jack Johnson concert. It was at St Helens amphitheater or aka big hay field. The traffic was horrible, the concert was great.

We went to the game with our friend Cara. Big thanks to B-Mitch who got us the amazing tickets. 20 rows up from home plate. What a great view.

Ashlie and Eric at the game. Not the best picture, but it was raining so that's why I look a little disheveled.

Brrr...thank goodness there is this fire place in here. Cara and I found the Moose house and warmed up by his fake fireplace.

Our First Wedding Anniversary!

Eric and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary. First Eric took me to the Benson for Sunday brunch. This is the same place we had brunch after our wedding last year. We chatted over champagne and reminisced over our first year as husband and wife. Then Eric surprised me and took me to the beach. The same beach we went to last year for a our mini-moon. He got us the most amazing room that overlooked haystack rock. Waiting inside the room were flowers, champagne, chocolates and balloons. What an amazing surprise. After a walk on the beach we got ready and went out for a wonderful dinner. I thought the surprises were over, but no, Eric took me kayaking (in Wheeler this little town on the Coast). We had a wonderful time. Sorry no kayak pictures, but there are a couple from our stay on the coast. All in all it was such a special anniversary. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful husband.

Pemberton

Eric and I went to Canada for the Pemberton Music Festival. We were fortunate enough to be able to hang out with Danny and Melissa while we were there. It was so wonderful spending time with Danny and Melissa. We did a bunch of stuff and had a lot of fun.
While we were in Canada we stopped in North Vancouver to check out Grouse Mountain. We went Zip Lining, saw a Bird show, checked out a bird show, took the tram up the mountain and walked around. We also spent a morning checking out Whistler. What a great place. We all decided we had to go back and spend some quality time together while enjoying the great Canada outdoors.

Here is a view from the top of the mountain
Walking to the concert. The traffic was horrible...and the parking was awful! We had to park at the airport and walk down the tarmac. Here is Eric already excited.

The beautiful mountains surrounding the concert.
Entering Canada.
Eric was so excited when he found these giant bags of dill pickle sunflower seeds.
Too loud. The first night of the concert was NIN and Wolfmother (to name a couple) and it was a little too loud for Ashlie.
The tram up the mountain

The concert was in a field. Literally a giant field of hay. So we spent a lot of time with half of our faces covered. But that didn't stop Melissa from rocking out.
Melissa getting ready to go zip lining.
We went to this place nicknamed "the stupid store" They have everything in there including some randomly named candies. Eric found this one named "Mr. 2 Big"
The "No Name" candy
The candy bar....Eat More
In Pemberton you are not allowed to bring potatoes...and here is a sign to prove it.

The Flamming Lips were one of the acts we saw. They had THE most random show. Including teletubbies, the lead singer in a giant clear bubble, and a lot of confetti.

When we were on the Mountain Eric decided to show off some of his gymnastics skills.

Jay-Z was one of the acts, he put on an amazing show.

BEARS! They were in a big outdoor cage, but they were cool nonetheless.

We were also lucky enough to see Coldplay. It was a great show and Eric and I pushed our way up to the front so we can saw them up close and personal.

some of the random people we saw. Needless to say we saw some interesting people at the concert. And here are some of them.

Some of the other acts we saw were: Tom Petty, Matisyahu, Nine in Nails, Wolfmother, Interpol, My Morning Jacket, the Tragically Hip, Vampire Weekend, N.E.R.D, Death Cab for Cutie, Coldplay, Jay Z. We had a great time in Canada. A lot of laughs, a lot of great music, and beautiful scenery. We are excited to head back to Canada sometime in the near future and spend some more time with Danny and Melissa.
